Product Description
The composite Q-Vault Housing is used for outdoor landscape lighting applications. The BMC Q-Vault housing is designed to protect the modular Q-Trans electrical components that vary in wattage and size, and they are interchangeable in order to meet specific customer needs. The BMC Q-Vault is buried into the ground and must be able to withstand the harsh stresses associated with climate change, weather, moisture, and corrosion.The Q-Vault Housing is made from BMCI’s BMC 880 material. This compound is specifically designed for outdoor applications that specify the UL-94 VO or 5VA material listings. Typical applications utilizing this grade of composite material include in ground lighting, outdoor lamps, and grill shelves.

Why is the product innovative?
Premier custom molder Globe Plastics recently teamed with Q-Tran, Incorporated (Q-Tran) to develop a new underground power management product. Q-Tran manufactured toroidal transformers and power supply centers (PSCs) for indoor and outdoot low voltage lighting. Globe Plastics's full service design team endeavored to work onsite with the Q-Tran staff to develop a s t a t e - o f - t h e - a r t d i r e c t burial enclosure component. The BMC 880 Q-Vault Housing is designed to protect modular electrical components. These components are interchangeable and vary in wattage and size to meet specific customer needs. The BMC 880 Q-Vault is buried and must withstand factors associated with underground and electrical use (resistance to dissimilar temperatures/thermal shock, water absorption, flame and creep). BMC 880 is specifically designed for outdoor applications that require Underwriters Laboratories' 94 V-0/5VA and F-1 material listings. Typical applications utilizing this grade of composite material include roof tiles, tactile warning panels and outdoor light housings. The BMC 880 QVault Housing was the result of this creative synergy. Recognizing this achievement were the judges at the LightFair International Show held in Las Vegas, NV. The newest Q-Tran system won two prestigious LightFair International Innovation Awards, ‘Design Excellence' and ‘Best of Category in Landscape, Pool and Fountain'.
